PROBLEMS ARE NOT STOP SIGNS; THEY ARE GUIDELINES

In the month of March 11, 2020, the WHO declared Covid-19 as a pandemic, everything was on a complete shut, many countries opted for the strict provisions to tackle the deadly virus by imposing complete lockdowns. But soon thereafter, in perhaps the greatest intellectual explosion of futures thinking in human history, governments, businesses, institutions, and individuals asked what this shift would mean for them. How would the Covid-19 virus reshape our society and our lives in the days, weeks, months, years, and even decades to come?

So, one of the major concerned sectors about its future was Legal sector, as county, state and federal courts with non-essential functions were suspended. Many attorneys whether from family law, immigration law or business law, etc. stated that there was a hold on their pending cases to the courts due to the suspension. Due to this suspension the backlog cases were increasing, putting more load on the court officers and its impact could be seen as downfall in the number of new cases. People were putting their concerns on hold.

But this suspension did not put the legal industry to a complete stop. The technology became the main savior to the legal industry. Virtual meeting apps like Skype or Zoom became a huge success in the legal industry. Many virtual courtrooms were set up on the consent of both the parties and trials nowadays are conducted via Skype or Zoom Applications. By the use of technology lot of time which was used earlier in commuting, getting ready etc. was already saved.

Many lawyers created legal service webpages and websites utilizing it as a platform for providing services to their clients. These websites left a major impact on the industry during these hard times. They provided out of court settlement help to the people in need for legal aid. These firms through their advisory services helped many individuals and companies to overcome their legal issue. They also conducted the basic training or we can say webinars for common masses to spread knowledge and how to overcome day-to-day life legal issues. These firms provide legal services to the people remotely and are cost-effective.

As we know due to the lockdown people were at home which leads to an increase in the number of cases related to domestic abuse which lead to an increase in divorce fillings. These legal service webpages also provided with unique separation agreements upon the consent of both the parties which in return save time and money of parties.

These online legal service providers helped in decreasing the number of cases filling in the courts which lead to a decrease in workload in courts. These webpages generated employment during these hard times and helped the economy immensely.

So, we can state that the legal industry adapted new ways to run itself and found the solution to current situations very effectively.
